“Its Always winter but never Christmas.” These words from a Relient K song come to mind this morning as my flesh freezes as soon as the single digit degree air hits it. It may very well be true that the only good thing about winter is Christmas. It seems like people are excited to see the snow come, as Christmas approaches, but then as soon as Christmas is over, they are ready for spring. I can’t imagine what it would be like to experience a winter without the joy and hope that Christmas brings…O wait, yes I can imagine it…its called February!
I wonder if life without Christ is a little like winter without Christmas. This world is certainly cold and harsh like winter, even though there are moments of warmth from time to time, but without the hope of the eternal summer of heaven, it would be a long hard winter. How blessed am I to never have known the eternal winter of life without the Savior. Thank you God for giving me parents who knew the wonderful hope of eternal life in Jesus and who loved me enough to teach me as well.
