Men are God’s Method

I am reading from E. M. Bounds Power through Prayer this morning’s still at the Yarrow retreat Center, and just rediscovered the statement made in the first chapter, that “Men are God’s Method”!  He reminds us that most of the good that has happened at the hand of God has happened through the hands of his servants.  We look for better programs, ideas, and methods, but God is looking for better people, and not just any people, people that are sold out to him in every way, and willing to do his will.  God did not send a better program into the world to save it; he didn’t introduce a new idea or method into the world to save our souls.  He sent a man…Jesus, and as he continues to work in this world, he will do so through people.  Will you be one of those people?  If so then we need to begin to see ourselves as the very tools of God, the extension of His hand and His will, and not just the poor sinners that we know we are.  Will you be God’s Method this day and always.
